This is the Credit Recovery calendar for 1st semester. Any changes to this schedule will be posted to the Credit Recovery class on Teams and Rooms, and on the wall outside of room 107. Reminder to all students who are enrolled in credit recovery, it is your responsibility to attend afterschool to complete your testing. You are welcome to attend any of the dates listed to work on your CR after school as well. See Mrs. Smolski for any questions.

Thank you to Ms. Dalton for organizing another successful Bearcat Sugar Rush. It’s wonderful to have an opportunity that allows our student organizations to give back to the community that provides so much support for GHS and students. Special thanks to all the sponsors, coaches students and families that set up the tables and provide the candy. Congratulations to the FFA for receiving the winning table award. Thank you to Leer Mine for hosting a group of GHS students today for our annual field trip. Students learned about the mining process and were given a tour around the grounds. We appreciate your hospitality and the educational experience that you provided! 💙💛

Contest Rules: • $3 to enter • Only painted/decorated pumpkins, no carved pumpkins can be entered. • Must be school appropriate! • Enter pumpkins outside the cafeteria Monday, October 28, and Tuesday, October 29. (Numbers will be assigned to pumpkins; no names will be displayed) If you are interested in participating, you must fill out the form found on Class Teams and turn it into Mrs. Glaspell's room.

If you signed up for the 2024 WV College Fair trip, permission forms are available in the counseling office and main office. The forms have also been uploaded on TEAMS. You MUST turn these into counselors this week in order to attend the trip. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Mahon or Mrs. Himes. Thank you!

Monday, November 4th will be our GHS Powderpuff Game. Come support the GHS Prom and all of the players/coaches for a fun night of football and halftime games. Halftime games are open to elementary, middle, and high school aged students. $5 per person to get in. Proceeds go towards GHS Prom. We hope to see you there!

Jostens met with the Sophomores and Seniors today regarding caps and gowns, class rings, and letterman jackets. The following forms were given to our students. Mrs. Bolyard's Business Law class is learning the trial process. The students had the opportunity to engage in mock trial procedures and take on some of the roles within the justice system. The goal of this activity was to provide students with exposure to new job opportunities. 

Sharing a big Bearcat Thank You to all of our GHS Career and Technical Education Advisory Members! Members met, both in person and virtually, with our CTE Faculty to review course concentrations and share updates. Members include business and industry representatives, post-secondary and middle school education representatives, and GHS CTE graduates. Thank you for your time, knowledge, and support for our students and programs. #ThisIsCTE

Congratulations to these XC athletes on their performance at regional XC today. The boys team qualified for the state meet today finishing 2nd as a team. In addition, the following boys are First Team All-Region Colson Annon - 6th MJ Niggemyer - 8th Chase Maier - 9th Addison Sole qualified as an individual for the state meet finishing 7th also earning First Team All-Region honors.
