Congratulations girls track.
Two school records were broken this passed weekend. Jerra Halbritter broke the discus record with a throw of 108’ 10”. Eclipsing the old mark of 108’ 7” held by Dana Griffith, set in 1987. Hadley Horne also set a new school record in the 300 Hurdles. Setting a new time of 47.91 seconds. The old record had stood since 2002, was held by Jenny Keener with a time of 48.18 seconds.

Seniors planning to attend WVU in the Fall who are receiving a scholarship from WVU, please read the below message from their admissions office. This is important if you are wanting to be recognized at the Senior Awards Ceremony.
Certificates will only be awarded to those students who have received an academic scholarship and have confirmed their attendance at WVU this fall by submitting their academic deposit. Students must confirm their attendance at least three weeks prior to your ceremony to guarantee recognition. Please note that some students may see a university grant on their financial aid packages. This award is not a merit-based scholarship and will not be recognized at the award ceremonies

Reminder that the sign ups for the 2024 Whitewater Rafting trip are in the counseling office. In order to be eligible for the trip, you have to have missed 5 or less days in the second semester. Please see Mr. Wilson or Mrs. Himes if you have any questions!


The Hispanic Honor Society took part of the West Virginia University International Festival yesterday at High Street. It was a great experience for the students to interact with people from other countries.







Kellen Lambert won third place for her essay titled The American Dream: From Sea to Shining Sea. Clarksburg Scottish Rite awarded Kellen and Grafton High School with a generous monetary gift for her achievement.


Grafton High School excelled this year at SCORES, an academic competition held at Marshall University.

Attention Class of 2024: WV Promise Application Deadline has been extended to SEPTEMBER 1, 2024 and the WV Higher Ed. Grant has been extended to JULY 1, 2024.

Bus Announcement: Bus # 73 will not run today, Friday, April 12th. Middle School and High School students who normally ride that bus will be transported home on Bus # 24 or #25. Flemington students from that bus will be transported by Bus #79.

Digital Imaging Year 1 students completed the YouTube "How to Make a Solar Eclipse in Photoshop" tutorial. Students worked with importing a pattern, creating multiple layers, added outer and inner glow effects, a layer mask, and lens flare.
Their work is out of this world!
Thank you to Taylor County Schools for providing the protective eye wear needed to view the solar eclipse firsthand.
