After graduation, Caleb is interested in a career in law enforcement. He would like to be employed by the Federal Correctional Institution, Hazelton. Caleb is a two-year member of NTHS and balances academics and part-time employment.

After graduation, Kay plans to attend Pierpont Community and Technical College to pursue an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services. She will begin the basic EMT class required for her endeavors and aspires to be employed by Taylor County EMS.

Congratulations Carter Gillespie, Madix Mewshaw and Cole Boyles on advancing to the State Science and Engineering Fair with their project. "Does the weight of a bat affect the exit velocity?" Their group placed 2nd in the Physics and Astronomy division to advance them to Charleston next month. Thanks to all GHS students who competed at the Regional Science Fair today, Mr. Skidmore for sponsoring this activity at GHS, and Ms. Robinson for organizing in her classes. In addition to the group above, GHS was represented by Caleb Cozart, Nevaeh Kinney, Rocky Ice, Caleb Shaver, Ciara Spring, Natalie Beltner, Jordan Cox and Camden Bowers.





Update on this post - at this time we have 4 volunteers. It is a big event and we will need more help if we plan to host this annual event. Please reach out if you are willing to help organize. We will also need chaperones that night.
It's time to organize the after prom committee. We are searching for parents and community members interested in helping this year. This is a wonderful event that provides our students a safe place to go after prom. The planning committee is forming soon, and it takes several people to organize it. This is an event that was created by parents and community members and has continued to be organized by wonderful volunteers. Prom is April 26. After graduation, Izzy plans to attend Pierpont Community and Technical College. She will pursue a degree in Bake and Pastry. Izzy is also a competing member of SkillsUSA. She is employed by The Bridge Sports Complex and works in the Cafe. She was recognized as The Bridge Sports Complex Employee of the Month in June 2024.

Varsity Ball week is coming up! Here are your 2025 Varsity Ball Spirit Days. Reminder that the Varsity Ball Dance will be held on March 1st from 7-10 pm at GHS. Let's make it a fun week! On Friday, 2/28 we will host the Backyard Brawl staff game - GHS will take on TCMS in a volleyball match. Wear your blue and gold on this day to support your staff members playing for the Backyard Brawl victory!
If you plan to bring a guest, you MUST fill out the guest request form and submit to Mr. McCarthy by February 21st.


CLASS OF 2025: The Natalea Mumaw Scholarship is now available for GHS Seniors planning to attend a trade school after graduation. Application is posted on Class of 2025 TEAMS.
All submissions are due by 4/16.

After graduation, Harmonie plans to attend college. She is considering Fairmont State or Pierpont. She will pursue studies in Nursing and obtaining of her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse. She is interested in pediatrics and will work as a CNA while attending college. Harmonie is also a member of FBLA.
