
Message from the Superintendent: Calendar Update
There will be NO SCHOOL in Taylor County on Friday, March 14th, 2025. At this time, the last day for students will now be Wednesday, June 4th, 2025.


Congratulations to our Lady Bearcats on their BIG WIN against East Fairmont today! Please review the following important information regarding the fan buses and students attending the game Friday. Forms are available now in the main office for those at school today. They were also distributed to all students currently on the fan buses and we have attached the form to this post as well.
Important to note that forms/payment will be accepted on Thursday on a first come, first serve basis. Please get your forms in as soon as possible upon arriving to school. If you need financial assistance, you will need to note that on the form.

Bus Announcement: Bus # 80 will not run today, Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Middle School and High School students who normally ride that bus will be transported home on Bus # 24 or #25

If you purchased a t-shirt, please remember if you indicated where you will be picking it up. Mrs. Eskridge will have shirts in the Commons area for those who elected to pick them up prior to the game.



The Sam Bord scholarship is available on TEAMS. If you are interested in applying, you must fill out an application and turn it into Mrs. Himes by April 15th.


The Class of 1968 Scholarship has been posted. Please have all submissions into Mrs. Himes by March 28th.

Advanced Tickets Sales for Tuesday's Game.


If you plan to run for a student council officer position for the 2025-2026 school year, you must attend the mandatory meeting in Mr. Waters room (225) tomorrow at Noon during Double Lunch.
If you cannot attend, please email Mrs. Himes or Mr. Waters or come see us tomorrow prior to the meeting.


Reminders for States fan bus! Make sure to have your forms and payments to turn in by 8 am tomorrow morning.
If you do not have the money to pay for the trip, please fill out a form and indicate on the form that you need financial assistance.

Important Information regarding attending the States game on Tuesday. We encourage you to share this post to get the information out to as many as possible to ensure our students understand what is expected so that they can attend the game.
Tuesday - make sure to wear your Bearcat colors to show your support for our girls team! Go all out like you all do for Thuse day and show your Bearcat Pride!!
Please note that if a student does not have the ability to pay for the game, the school will cover the cost for them. They still must fill out a completed permission form and indicate that they need financial assistance on the form and turn it in at 8 am Monday.
Form is provided on this post and students picked up hard copies of the form yesterday. Forms must be completed with payment and turned in no later than 8 am Monday morning!



We're ready to Spring Forward!
Digital Imaging 1 students explored a short Nearpod lesson about the Pros and Cons of Daylight Saving Time. Applying what they learned, students created quick Social Media graphics, using Adobe Express, to share the "Set Your Clocks Ahead One Hour" reminder.
Daylight saving time starts at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 9.





If you are interested in representing your class as a Student Council Officer for the 2025-2026 school year, you must attend the mandatory meeting at Noon on Monday, March 10th in Mr. Waters' room.
If for some reason, you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Himes or Mr. Waters to get the application packet.

Grafton High School will be providing a student fan bus for the State tournament game at 11:15 am in Charleston on 3/11. The bus will depart from GHS at 8:00 am and arrive back at the school at approximately 4:00 pm. All students should report to the Scotty Hamilton Gymnasium by 7:50 am. We will take roll and load busses at that time.
Students are required to pay $10 (This includes transportation and ticket.) Students will only be admitted on the bus if they have turned in their permission form and payment.
Students should bring money to eat lunch while at the game or bring a packed lunch. We will not be stopping to eat.
