Last week in Charleston, four students from Grafton High School participated in the Youth in Government program presented by the Youth Leadership Association. Prior to attending Youth in Governments, these students researched needs in West Virginia and wrote legislation that they felt was important for our state.
Bryce Isner was the Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Jaylin Summers and MJ Niggemyer served in the House, while Sophia Austin served as a lobbyist.
These students were able to meet with students from all over the state and consider different issues and viewpoints those students feel were important.
Grafton High School's Youth Leadership Association (YLA) chapter allows students to consider public policy issues in programs like this and Model United Nations.

Attention juniors and seniors-

If you plan to drive yourself or get a ride to after prom, you must get this form signed and submitted by Wednesday, April 23rd. The day we come back from Spring Break.
Forms are available today in the main office and outside of the cafeteria. Please read the form carefully. Reminder that even if you drive yourself or get a ride, you cannot leave before 4:00 am.

These are the only pictures I will be posting until prom night in order to keep the anticipation up, but I want to brag on our welding and building construction classes. In less than 12 hours, they have installed the cabling system ceiling and walls and laid the framework for the dance floor. I am so proud and appreciative of the instructors, Mr. Wilson and Mr. Uhl, and their students.
Thank you all - Mrs. Shumaker

🇵🇪✨ ¡Una experiencia peruana en nuestras clases de español! ✨🇵🇪
Our Spanish students recently enjoyed a flavorful Peruvian experience right here at school!
Spanish 2 Honors and Spanish 3 students took part in a fun role-play activity, pretending to visit a Peruvian restaurant with their “families.” They practiced ordering food in Spanish and then enjoyed a delicious tasting of arroz chaufa (Peruvian fried rice), tallarín saltado (stir-fried noodles), and chicha morada — all catered by Miskycha, a local Peruvian restaurant.
Spanish 1, 4 and 5 Honors students also got to taste chicha morada, tallarín saltado, and arroz chaufa, and had a blast making their own Peruvian tequeños in class!
It was a wonderful opportunity to bring Spanish language and culture to life through food, role-play, and hands-on learning. ¡Qué experiencia tan sabrosa! 🌎🍽️
