Violet Rubenstein

Hispanic Honor Society had 2 very busy days. They hosted a Hispanic experience for the children at the elementary schools in Taylor County.
Yesterday they went to West Taylor in the morning and Flemington Elementary in the afternoon. Today they went to Anna Jarvis. Students rotated in 5 different stations where they learned about Spanish greetings, the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, Hispanic countries, and a salsa band. They also were able to taste homemade tortillas and Maria cookies. Muchas gracias estudiantes. You are the best.

TOMORROW is the last day to purchase prom tickets. You can purchase online or pay in cash or with a check during lunches tomorrow. We have to have a final count after tomorrow, so no extensions will be provided. Please be sure to buy your ticket if you are interested in attending. If you need financial assistance with the ticket, you must see Mrs. Himes or Mrs. Eskridge. https://osp.osmsinc.com/p/EC502-59
***Hard copies of tickets are not required to get in. The physical tickets are a souvenir for students - there will be a check in list at the door upon entering prom***

This is an awesome opportunity for 9th and 10th graders. Must apply ASAP if interested. https://wvde.us/gov-schools/tourism/#parents
The inaugural Governor's School for Tourism will launch in the summer of 2024. GST will provide selected 9th and 10th grade students with opportunities to tour WV for 10 days, learning about the tourism and hospitality sectors of our economy through hands on experiences.
The dates for 2024 are June 20-June 29. This is honestly an opportunity of a lifetime for students. We’re going whitewater rafting, staying at WV State Parks, and visiting all 9 of the travel regions in WV. We’ll be traveling on charter buses and it’s all free!
