As we enter into another year of athletics, we are blessed at Grafton High School to have a full time athletic trainer. The minimum requirement in state code is a limited trainer for high school football. Not only did Taylor County Schools honor my request to fund a full time AT several years ago, but we have been lucky to find a trainer. In today's world there are not near as many trainers as schools in need.
Beyond all of that, at GHS we don't just have any trainer. We have Ms. Sarah Weaver. The best trainer!💛💙
Thank you AT Weaver!. Thank you for the countless hours keeping our student athletes healthy and safe.

Thank you Leer Mine! Progress is moving quickly on the new concession/press box. 💙🐾💛

GHS students and Mrs. Ward have done it again. Two Bearcats, Kai Heldreth and Larkin Nicholson, had their designs selected as the front cover for WVSSAC state tournament programs. Kai's design won for softball, and Larkin's track and field design won. Each student received a copy of the program, certificate and $200. Congratulations to both students and Mrs. Ward.

Congratulations, Michael "MJ" Niggemyer, GHS Class of 2025, elected and sworn in as 2024 ALMBS Secretary of State.

Taylor County Schools recognized the students attending this summer’s Governor’s School of STEM and the Governor’s School Tourism.

Good Evening Bearcat Families!
This is the last week to register for summer school if your student needs to recover credits. This past week you should have received your student’s report card. If they failed a core course, there should have been a summer school application included.
If you think your student needs to recover a core class from this year or previous years, and you did not receive an application and have not spoken with a counselor, please call the main office at GHS tomorrow and speak with an administrator. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.

Summer Maintenance Reminder to our 2024 Graduated Seniors and NTHS Alumni --
Please log into your NTHS Portal and update or confirm your email address with a personal email address (non k12 student email) so that you may continue to access your benefits.

Taylor County Schools - Central Office Summer Hours

Great opportunity for those who are looking to become nurses!

Report cards have been mailed out, so be on the lookout for them within the next week's time!
If you failed a core class this semester or in the past and have not made it up yet then there will be a summer school application included with your report card. You have until June 12th to bring it completed to the main office at GHS or mail it (postmarked by June 12th). You are also welcome to contact GHS counselors before then to get signed up for summer school - you do not have to wait to receive the application in the mail if you do not want to.
If you failed any first semester classes and have not made them up and choose not to do summer school, they will be placed in your fall schedule and you will be required to retake the class over.
Summer school details are included in the photo attached to this post.

Congratulations to students in the Therapeutic Services Program at Grafton High School for completing the Certified Nursing Assistant Program. Nine of the ten students successfully passed the CNA Exam on May 11, 2024. The remaining student will sit for the exam over the summer!

GHS Summer School will be held from July 8th through July 25th. If you failed a core class (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies) this year or in previous years and have not made it up, you will need to enroll in summer school or it will be placed back in your schedule and you will be required to retake the course. If you have failed a course and do not receive an application or have failed a course in the past and still not made it up, it is your responsibility to contact your counselor at the high school as soon as possible to get an application filled out.
For those who failed core classes in the Spring 2024 semester, summer school applications will be mailed home with report cards. You must turn completed applications into the main office or mail them by Wednesday, June 12th.
Daily attendance is required Monday through Thursday from 8:00-12:00. GHS Bus service will be available, but will not start until Tuesday, July 9th so students are responsible for finding transportation on July 8th.
See image for further details regarding summer school. If you have any questions, please contact GHS.
