Digital Imaging Year 1 students started learning Adobe Photoshop at the beginning of October. In just a few weeks, they have complete two full units and have applied skills to create a few seasonal treats! 🍁🍂🎃
Digital Imaging Year 2 students are working in Adobe Illustrator. Students are currently working to create a 6-art board Branding Guide. Students complete orders through Riverside Designs Simulated Workplace and mix in some spooky fun! 😊👻💀🎃
These Digital Innovators are also learning power skills preparing them for higher education and employment -- teamwork, creativity, attention to detail, professional communications, and more.

GHS FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America, enjoyed a wonderful experience at the 2026 WV FBLA Fall Conference. The conference was held at the Greenbrier Resort on October 29-30.
Our student members enjoyed knowledgeable and encouraging guest speakers, workshops, and expo hall further developing their skill sets and expanding their networks. They were able to appreciate resort amenities such as the movie theater, shops, historical decor, and Escape Room challenges.

Building Hope is designed to strengthen social and emotional connections among students by encouraging self-awareness, empathy, compassion, healthy relationships, responsible choices, and inclusion. Through engaging activities, meaningful conversations, and opportunities to better understand one another, students are reminded that everyone has a story, everyone faces challenges, and a simple act of kindness can make a lasting difference.
We are especially grateful to our community volunteers for giving their time, sharing their wisdom, and creating a safe, supportive environment where our students could connect, reflect, and grow. Thank you to our seniors for helping guide and encourage our freshmen as they navigate their high school journey.

Last week, students in Digital Imaging/Multimedia II (Mrs. Ward) and Business & Marketing (Mrs. Bolyard) combined classes to welcome Dr. Laurel Cook from West Virginia University.
Dr. Cook is an Associate Professor, specializing in Marketing, at the John Chambers College of Business and Economics. She created a custom presentation to share with students with an emphasis on marketing, branding, and promoting Riverside Designs, student-run Simulated Workplace. Student members of FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America, could also ask questions and apply the information learned towards preparing for competitive events.
Laurel encouraged students to create their own website to better market themselves for opportunities ranging from scholarships to employment. Her presentation concluded with Careers in Marketing and sharing a student opportunity to serve on a Teen Advisory Board. Serving on the board can help students with networking, resume building, and contributing to research. Grade 9-12 students can email Dr. Cook, laurel.cook@mail.wvu.edu, directly and express their interest.

The Bearcat Sugar Rush is this evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Grafton High School. The entrance is through the end doors, next to Scotty Hamiliton Gym. We can't wait to see you there!
Tonight at GHS, two events will be taking place on campus.
🍬 Bearcat Sugar Rush (6:00-7:00 PM)
Families should enter through the doors at the end of the building near Scotty Hamilton Gymnasium.
Parking for Sugar Rush will be available at the end of the school beyond the gymnasium.
Sam Bord Drive will be closed for the evening to allow families to safely cross the street.
⚽ TCMS Mid-Mountain 10 Soccer Tournament (1st Round)
Parking for soccer spectators will be available in front of the school.
Handicap-accessible parking will be located beside the facilities building next to Clair Bee Gymnasium.
Stadium entry will be through the gate next to Clair Bee Gymnasium, since Sam Bord Drive will be closed for the evening to allow families to safely cross the street no ticket booth will be open behind the school.
