Healthy Grandfamilies begins February 27th in the Mary Battle Studio. It is open to any grandparents of Taylor County raising one or more grandchildren. Childcare will be provided.
Students wishing to get some community service hours can see Mrs. Shaffer in the main office.


The GHS Blood Drive will be held February 27th from 8 am to 1:30 pm in the Mary Battle Studio


National FFA Week is coming up in February. Be on the lookout for the activities our chapter is doing to celebrate the week!

Seniors planning to continue your education after high school- you are encouraged to attend our FAFSA Night on 2/6 in the Mary Battle Studio.
Reminder that if you are PROMISE eligible, you MUST fill out the FAFSA as well.
Please bring your iPad to complete the FAFSA and/or PROMISE app and parent/guardian tax information from last year's taxes.


Varsity Ball Week begins on Monday. Here are the spirit week days.
Varsity Ball Game will be held on February 2nd. We will have a shooting competition at halftime and a 50/50 raffle to go to local Taylor County charities and organizations. All money from 50/50 and shooting competition will go directly to the charities. Senior Night will be held at the basketball game that evening and YLA will be hosting a chili cookoff.
We will have a Thuse on Thursday for our students to celebrate our school pride.
Dance will be held on Saturday, February 4th from 8-11 pm. It is $5 for admission and is a semi-formal dance.
We are looking forward to a great week filled with Bearcat Pride for our school and community!

Permission Forms are available in the main office and students can sign up on the bulletin board located in the ramp area leading to the cafeteria.

The American Legion Boys State is among the most respected educational programs of government instruction for high school students. Each participant becomes a part of the operation of his city, county and state government.

On Monday, January 30th, the counseling department will be taking all 9th grade students to the United Technical Center to tour and learn about the variety of programs that they offer available to GHS students. Any 10th graders interested in attending the trip to learn more about specific programs need to see their counselor.
Permission forms will be distributed next week and are required to be returned by Monday, January 23rd. Please make sure you get your permission forms signed and returned to your counselors. Students A-L will attend the AM trip and Student M-Z will attend the PM trip.
