February 1st kicked off "Love the Bus Month" which emphasizes the importance of school buses, viewing them not merely as vehicles but as essential elements woven into the fabric of education. By celebrating and honoring the yellow school bus and its drivers, we reinforce our commitment to nurturing safe and inclusive educational journeys for every student. In doing so, we ensure that this cherished tradition remains a cornerstone of our communities, driving forward with pride and purpose.

CTE Month Student Spotlight Christian McMillen ProStart Completer ProStart® is a career and technical education program that unites the foodservice industry and the classroom to teach high school students culinary skills and restaurant management principles, as well as employability skills such as communication, teamwork, professionalism and time management. After graduation, Christian plans to attend Pierpont Community and Technical College. Christian currently is completing an Internship at Mia Margherita’s restaurant in Bridgeport. CTE Month Student Spotlight Kellen Lambert Agriculture Completer and Taylor County FFA President After graduation, Kellen plans to attend college, most likely WVU, to pursue a degree in animal and nutritional sciences. From Coach England... Today’s results!  Bearcat swimmers were all fantastic today!  Great PR’s and teamwork too!!  Shoutout to our two new GHS record holders!!  JONATHAN MAIER in the 50 Free and PATRICK FOLEY in the 100 Free (Patrick also finished 3rd place in the Big Ten in this race)!!  Proud coach here!  We will get back at it Monday to prepare for Regionals next Saturday!!! 💙💛💙💛

To celebrate CTE Month, we are featuring a Career and Technical Education (CTE) student each day throughout February. National Technical Honor Society Seniors will receive their purple and white graduation cords during the Inductions Ceremony scheduled for February 21, 2025. During this morning's AA Assembly, Mrs. Dalton shared information about the upcoming SCORES Competition. Students, please see your grade level, graduating class TEAMS for the full SCORES handbook describing each event requirement. SCORES is an academic competition at Marshall University on Friday, April 4th.  You must have a 3.0 GPA and no discipline issues to compete. Permission forms can be picked up and dropped off in Ms. Dalton's room (110).  Permission forms are due on Thursday, February 20th.  This is a school approved absence. 

Bus Announcement: Bus # 80 will not run today, Tuesday, Jan. 29th. Middle School and High School students who normally ride that bus will be transported home on Bus # 24 or #25

It's time to organize the after prom committee. We are searching for parents and community members interested in helping this year. This is a wonderful event that provides our students a safe place to go after prom. The planning committee is forming soon, and it takes several people to organize it. This is an event that was created by parents and community members and has continued to be organized by wonderful volunteers. Prom is April 26. Attentions Students Scheduled to Take Exams - With the 2 hour delay tomorrow, the exam schedule for day 1 of exams had to be modified. We will still take exams in periods 1, 2, 7 and 8. The new schedule is below. Also, the UTC bus will not run tomorrow since it is a 2-hour delay and exams.
